Because it is superior. It has been designed meticulously by hundreds of paid designers and developers who are all working towards a single goal. Apple literally wrote the book on user interface, and they apply those design principles to everything they do.

Granted, it may not always be the best choice for all users.

Not yet. But it’s not moving away from it. It needs a few huge global companies to migrate over. Their demand for enterprise software will drive large software developers over.

I hate putting it like this, but when Adobe finally releases photoshop, it’s all over for windows, and Linux will skyrocket.

I'm working on a some materials for a class wherein I'll be teaching some young, wide-eyed Windows nerds about Linux and we're including a section we're calling "foot guns". Basically it's ways you might shoot yourself in the foot while meddling with your newfound Linux powers....

I believe refactoring never ends. Just because it works, doesn’t mean it can’t work better. The better it works, the easier it will be to add features… that can be refactored too.

I frequently ask ChatGPT to make whole functions for me. It’s important to check the code and test it, obviously, but it has saved me quite a bit of time.

It certainly has its limitations. I’ve noticed a few topics where it generally gets things wrong, or I can’t seem to explain it properly. In that case, you may just use it as a reference guide. Maybe toss it some code and ask it what it thinks. It’s not always useful information, but sometimes that leads you down a different road that you would not have thought of before.

First draft grammar of Xeph, a non-pure functional language, a superset of ASDL. Input is needed. (+ guide on reading EBNF) ( gist.github.com )

Please tell me what you honestly think of it --- this is not a 'labor of love' exactly, I only spent a few hours on it. But I think its a strong foundation for what comes next. The implementation, I hope, will be an orgy of love!...

If you’re using web stuff, just use a framework. Whatever has the easiest to use components for your workflow. As long as your app doesn’t look like total ass, people will forgive an uninspired design in favor of functionality.

25 minutes is way too long. Could be under 5. Basically it’s glitchy as hell and someone else will do it better. Also costs a ton and has a required subscription.
