Are there better open source bounty sites/systems?

OpenSSL goes GitHub only ( openssl.org )

We’re no longer using our old ftp, rsync, and git links for distributing OpenSSL. These were great in their day, but it’s time to move on to something better and safer. ftp://ftp.openssl.org and rsync://rsync.openssl.org are not available anymore. As of June 1, 2024, we’re also going to shut down https://ftp.openssl.org...

I hope that Lemmy server open source software allows extensions or plugins that enable those that run instances to have the option to automatically and continually back them up to the permaweb blockchain Arweave. What do you think about that?

Does Lemmy instance server software already allow for plugins or extensions to be utilized in a rather frictionless or efficient way?

Yes i have. I might even have a plan

Is there a time line for full Federation?

Gimp is horrible branding and should be renamed.

Maybe 30 to 70% agree with you. Maybe 15 to 35 percent do not care.

I think it was abandoned.. but I'm not certain.

I tried to look that up 4 or 7 months ago about.

Linux 6.10 To Merge NTSYNC Driver For Emulating Windows NT Synchronization Primitives ( www.phoronix.com )

Going through my usual scanning of all the "-next" Git subsystem branches of new code set to be introduced for the next Linux kernel merge window, a very notable addition was just queued up... Linux 6.10 is set to merge the NTSYNC driver for emulating the Microsoft Windows NT synchronization primitives within the kernel for...

So will FL Studio and Photoshop work on Linux then?

Really.... interesting...

What about loopcloud and all vsts?

Gitlab or Gitea should integrate with Arweave and Fediverse. Fork if needed.

Develop a decentralized Github alternative.

Microsoft owns Github. It's iron how popular Github is for open source.

That's awesome. Thanks

Quick video demonstrating that lemmy.world sends every activity out twice ( i.imgur.com )

I realise this is a known issue and that lemmy.world isn't the only instance that does this. Also, I'm aware that there are other things affecting federation. But I'm seeing some things not federate, and can't help thinking that things would be going smoother if all the output from the biggest lemmy instance wasn't 50% spam....

Is it a misconfiguration or a software bug?

Maybe a plug-in for Lemmy server could be developed to automatically back up and / or restore instances from Arweave. Some protocol could be used to turn the instances into Json, which could then be uploaded as documents and parsed, or something like that. And then the Json could then be potentially restored. There might be many pages for a large instance, but they could perhaps be organized in a thoughtful and functional way.

With discord planning to show ads, how can the fediverse/lemmy benefit from another proprietary program making itself worse? (Like it was with reddit)

Do you think that the fediverse has something to gain with the enshitfication of discord? Are there voice chat programs in the fediverse that can benefit from it?

A decentralized Discord alternative... federated?!

Arweave... as an idea... or Hive/Peakd...

Memo.cash like technology.

Member.cash (defunct website... built on memo.cash tech)

Federated chats...

Session like technology...

Nostr like technologies...

It seems technically feasible.

Or like d.live (?) But only for sound (?)

Signal like technology if open source (?)
