ChromeOS is Gentoo-based and does use the Linux kernel, but everything in the userspace has little to do with the Linux desktop besides Crostini, which is just a Debian container.
That's unlike Android, whose kernel derives itself from a heavily gutted version of the Linux kernel, redesigned to support closed source binary blob drivers provided by device manufacturers and with low level support for the Dalvik JVM. Its API has little to do with the mainstream Linux kernel.
I think that's what it says but that's the error I'd say I get about 40% of the time when trying to view image posts. Is this a sync thing or something else?
Hey all, I'm trying to be a little more economical and reduce the amount of food I waste, and was wondering if there were any open-source apps that can track the best-before dates of the foods I buy so I can improve my meal-planning....
Searching for emails sucks balls compared to Outlook, and accessing any semblance of advanced search is not obvious as you have to go through the top bar.
I can't even do from:email@address.com in the search field, I have to go to advanced search, which is missing other features.
I have YouTube Premium but I have to use ReVanced to block shorts because it's terrible for my ADHD. My mental health has improved ever since I ripped that fucker out of my life.
I want to control what I see, and this isn't even about them being paid anymore, it's just about forcing me to see what I don't want to see.
It doesn't matter that Epic is giving away games that only run on a platform I don't use. They won't get my money until they get their heads out of their asses about Linux.

It's still hardware in the trash in 4 years, regardless of cost to the end user. I intend to keep my Pixel 6 until it dies or runs out of security updates in 3 years, whichever comes first.
I guess that's fair, it's wishful thinking on my part that mobile computing could be like laptops or desktops. I still personally wouldn't get a device without a long update guarantee, you get better bang for your buck even with a pricier device since you're keeping it longer and it's better for the environment.
It's not open-source without the license. I think they may be confusing source available with open source.
In the case of JavaScript, obfuscation turns source code into a compilation result for performance and "security" reasons. It removes unused tokens, comments, spaces, newlines, etc. to reduce the data transfer size.
So, by definition, non-obfuscated code is source code, as it is the code the compiled or built product originates from. However, most sites on the web don't ship source code, only minified and obfuscated code.
I chose Debian 12 as a solid and stable base. Which of these shipped DEs is the best for this particular laptop series and Windows 10 like user experience?...
I can't recommend KDE for people who aren't comfortable with computers as there are so many settings they can get into without knowing how to get it back the way it was.
GNOME with Dash to Panel is usually good enough for those used to Windows' layout, and you can set them up with Silverblue to get the same immutability.
Wdym these days? Would you sit at the table with a neo nazi? Thought not. I wouldn't sit at the table with someone who's undoing years of scientific progress in eradicating deadly diseases.
