Sync for Lemmy

Links that open natively in Sync (like news articles) are often riddled with ads. Is there any way for the Sync shell to open through a Firefox based browser, which includes native ad block?...

When Samsung last updated One UI several months ago, myself and many other Samsung users (and Pixel users on Android 14 as well, judging by the replies) encountered a bug where swiping posts closed showed only a black background until fully closed, after which the content one would expect to see would appear....

I'm seeing within Sync a number of users have profile pics that show up on their posts. Is there a way in Sync to set that?

I've added some instances to the instance filters, yet I continue seeing those instances. Is there something else that I need to do to block entire instances?

I am trying to block all posts that are links to YouTube on my feed. I tried domain filtering for all 4 of the domains that the YouTube app auto opens. But I still see YouTube link posts. I tried logging out and back in, no luck. Anyone know?

I set the polling interval to never but I still get notifications for some reason. I know I can disable the notifications at the system level, but I would rather the app doesn't do the polling at all currently. Android 14, Pixel 7a.

I'm looking to make links stand out by any means. I find myself always opening them and having something like YouTube or other video services open and start playing while in places where that's not ideal.

[BUG] Unable to remove spoilers in post text...

I've spent quite some time trying to set up the font settings with Sync, and it always seems like the ideal font size would be right between two settings (typically Regular and Medium). I have tried adjusting it in many different ways, also adjusting the base font size, etc but just can't seem to get it dialed in the way I want....

I've been using Sync for Lemmy in conjunction with this Lemmy.world account since it first hit the Play store on Android....

I think that's what it says but that's the error I'd say I get about 40% of the time when trying to view image posts. Is this a sync thing or something else?

Question in the title. I don't want to see posts from lemmynsfw, but I don't want to just blanket disable NSFW stuff either since the tag gets used for other things. Is there a way to do this or do I have to individually block each community that shows up in my feed?

I'm unable to visit a community using the sidebar suggested method of searching for "!community" convention....

Can anyone try going to !newbrunswick and let me know if it works? It won't load for me and I tried on an account on that instance and still nothing....

It appears that Sync sorts by numbers > Capital Case > lower case, as noted by !RimWorldPorn being sorted above !android rather than with !rimworld in the subscriptions list as I would have expected....

I can access other forums on lemmy.dbzer0 with Sync, and I can access !piracy from a web browser and other apps so I know the community isn't banned. Seems like Sync can't connect to !piracy specifically....

Comments that are nested too deep simply become unreadable.

Is there supposed to be some way to update the default sort settings in Sync? I can do it on desktop on my user account, but I'm not sure if this is possible within the app. Thanks.

I'm writing this from the post page. Nothing here tells me who I'm signed in as. Same thing for comments. If I want to find out that answer, I have to back out all the way to the timeline. I wish when I was making additive actions like posting and commenting that I could see which account I have selected. "Posting as ..." Or...

Formatting works in titles and is pretty interesting.

I was a long-time subscriber to Sync For Reddit, until the great third party app purge last year when I just boycotted Reddit altogether. Now, a year later, I'm looking to fill that content hole with Lemmy, and stumbled across Sync For Lemmy. I love it! The one functionality I miss from SFR was the embedded player for YouTube...

My Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra had an update the other day and now I can only see titles and descriptions on my feed. No pictures, no thumbnails, and even when I click on where the picture should be, I can't seem to load anything before it times out....
