@linux Sharing a 'small' inconvenience I had to fix with #opensuse#slowroll (I suspect #tumbleweed is the same) - I couldn't launch snaps (spotify, bitwarden) after update - error was: cannot determine seccomp compiler version in generateSystemKey fork/exec /usr/lib/snapd/snap-seccomp: no such file or directory
The fix (I first tried re-installing, didn't work) was to:
a. locate snap-seccomp - was in /usr/libexec/snapd
b. symlink: ln -s /usr/libexec/snapd /usr/lib/snapd
This is why I prefer using Distrobox on my personal computer. No package for Signal-Desktop? No problem, run it through a Debian container using Distrobox.
David Revoy's webcomic "Pepper & Carrot" is 10 years old today!
Drawn and colored using @Krita, "Pepper & Carrot" chronicles the light-hearted adventures of Pepper, a ditzy witch🧙♀️, and her mischievous pet "familiar", Carrot the cat😸.
@jessamyn@gbhnews Over at the Statehouse I found it was a bit of a middle ground. I could very clearly see what my phone was picking up, including the colors, but it was far fainter than what came through on the long exposure with my phone. Here’s the photo I took at around 10:40 PM during a break in the clouds.
A new feature I absolutely love in @neochat is that the message delegates now offer a full previews of the file you send. Here is for example a markdown file with Markdown syntax highlighting! The same works with train tickets or any other types of tickets that KDE Itinerary can consume.
FOSS - ensuring even new hardware stays in use when vendor-support eventually ends!
Whether or not you install GNU/Linux on it today, your new #Mac will eventually lose #Apple support. Thanks to the impressive work of #Asahi#Linux project (@AsahiLinux), it will not need to end up in the landfill once it does.
@gbhnews I answered fiction, which I now realize later was wrong.
I read much more fiction than non-fiction in general. But looking back, I really only visited libraries when I had serious research to do. That means hunting non-fiction material.

@gbhnews hi! that makes sense. I'm not an expert, of course, but here's how I'd rewrite it: "1.3 million people trapped as Israel bombs Rafah" because that's the bigger news. Focusing on "Palestinian militants" is misleading, as if this a battle between equals rather than the domination of one over the other.
thanks so much for the reply! your presence here really does rule!
