The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) was established in 1994 by Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee, to develop interoperable standards to lead the Web to its full potential.

We are an international multi-stakeholder community where member organizations, a full-time staff, and the public work together to build a Web based on the principles of accessibility, internationalization, privacy and security.

Please be more curious than critical. Your interactions go to real people who care and do their best 🙏

@leean00 true! the International Space Station has more visiting people than living there. but if you think of what else is in space - satellites (including those which make GPS work) orbiting the earth and moon; telescopes like Webb and Hubble; probes; and possible future trips to Mars, having a system for overall connected makes sense.

The Verifiable Credentials Working Group invites implementations of the Candidate Recommendation Snapshot of Data Integrity BBS Cryptosuites v1.0. @RealGene Yeah, sorry, we can't really summarize cryptography well for social media length posts.

Very roughly: "Verifiable Credentials" are used to express and exchange credentials that have been verified by a third party. "BBS" comes from the last names of authors of a multi-message digital signature protocol. These signatures are used to provide selective disclosure and unlinkable (not able to be tracked back to a user) derived proofs.

So more secure, more private digital credentials
