No but if you want an alternative to anki that is easy to use, try memorion

small44 ,

I don't, i just think of app that can be useful for me

With the cost of hosting videos and almost all instances not accepting registration. Peertube has zero chance to replace youtube. The best it could be is complementary to youtube

small44 ,

What's wrong with finding content using hashtags and keyword searches?

small44 ,

What about how hard it is to have an account on any instance. Pwople can't even comment on video without an account

small44 ,

Executing commands of powerful command line tools without losing time finding them.

small44 ,
  • Watch a project tutorial video
  • Code along with the video and taking notes
  • Create my own project with the notes i took and documentation
small44 ,

I never stopped but i started buying music too from small artists

small44 ,

I listen to hundreds of small artists. I can't buy every singles albums they have.

small44 ,

Same issue, I don't have enough money to support everybody

small44 ,

I have 44k songs in 13 years

small44 ,

I believe selling and sharing ebooks is illegal too. So digital and physical contents is different

small44 ,

Becuase a mid-range phone is good enough for most people

Anyone using Lidarr?

I use Radarr and Sonarr for my movies/shows, and Spotify for music, but I do know there's another *arr app for that. The question is, is it worth setting up and how easy is it to discover new/similar music as opposed to Spotify, given that Spotify isn't expensive at all. And how do you fellow crewmen go about it?

small44 ,

Just browse blog and bandcamp discovery page. It's really not difficult to find music without algorithms

small44 ,

I didn't know that there was an whole organization of pirates. That's cool.

In most case, you don’t need to be good at Math to be good at programming

Need help with using FreeTube.

So far I am really liking FreeTune as an alternative to UBO. However, my family really hates it. One of the reasons for this is because it doesn’t have a recommended vidoes section. Is it possible to download an addon for that, or is there an alternative to FreeTube that works more like YouTune?...

small44 ,

You could simply find stuffs using the good old way. Searching with keyword. Algorithms also won’t expands your interests

small44 ,

Yesterday, i argued with a person who was defending spotify making the free version almost useless before spotify was never profitable

small44 ,

Streaming services will never be able to able to pay artists fairely. We should return to buying music

small44 ,

The core service which is music streaming will never be able to make spotify profitable. The problem which podcast is that they are badly integrated in spotify, it should be a seperate app instead

small44 ,

My main genre i listen to is hip hop and there is almost no good merch to buy. I live in canada and listen to many underground artists who doesn’t come to canada to perform. I think buying digital or physical music is the best option

small44 ,

How about unsigned artists?

small44 ,

Since I discovered bandcamp in 2017, I always downloaded all the music I bought

small44 ,

However, most of the employees they laid off are those in charge of the Bandcamp blog, which is full of good articles and music recommendations. I think it’s the best editorial team. Bandcamp really needs them if they want to keep the quality.

small44 ,

I’m really surprised by the number of people who doesn’t already have all their music locally

small44 ,

Three of the editorial employees announced that they were laid off, and they seem to have received a lot of praise from artists, small labels, and fans.
Here’s the blog:
daily.bandcamp.com

small44 ,

I mean before epic games purchased it. It simply sound natural to me to have local versions of your music no matter what

small44 ,

My idea is that every artist host a server and sell music on it and listeners can subscribe to many servers and see all updates from artists from their feed

small44 ,

I don’t like using recommendation algorithms, I always discover music by human recommendations from blogs like bandcamp daily, warez websites and featuring artists

small44 ,

Got an invite code yesterday and i couldn’t stay more than 5 minutes is as i didn’t any content that interests me

small44 ,

I don’t know why they made it difficult for people to create custom feeds

small44 ,

Because it’s one of the few good microsoft products

small44 ,

Is it even worth it to pirate NFTs, all the nft I saw has poor artistic value

small44 ,

Mostly music I have.40k songs of my phone and download new music everyday. I don’t know why yoy are paying for a website when you can easily pirate music for free?

While Android as a whole continues to shrink in the US, Google Pixel keeps growing ( 9to5google.com )

Android is struggling to keep its market share in the United States, as Apple continues to take over in the market. But, despite Android as a whole losing ground, Google Pixel phones are becoming a bigger slice of the US market....

small44 ,

Any phone without an sd card slot is a direct skip to me

small44 ,

It’s plenty for most people but not for me

small44 ,

Mostly music and breakdance videos

    small44 ,

I hate that mentality of wanting to make popular stuffs more popular instead of giving the same ressources for everybody

    small44 ,

It’s been like 5 years since the last time I heard about the technology
