I have a Framework 13 AMD - love it overall. I'm currently running opensuse with Plasma but would honestly be happy to switch DEs if this was possible elsewhere....
For any one who finds it in the future - I just set a Steam launch with gamescope set to half my native resolution, fullscreen and enabled fsr. Games run at the weird 1128x752 and FSR makes it look even better but I get great performance.
Voice control for activities will no longer be available on Fitbit Sense and Versa 3 devices. You'll need to use the buttons on your device to start, stop, pause, and resume activities. You can still voice control activities on Pixel Watches.
Wow. Removing an existing feature from an older and cheaper device and leaving it only on the newer, more expensive device?

Maybe I’m old but I’m really getting annoyed with apps becoming so bloated with features. The podcast integration was part of why I left Spotify. I was tired of having podcasts pop up on my home screen. Tidal luckily is free from this for the moment.
I can’t imagine there is but I’m wondering if I am missing something. I use GeForce Now and unfortunately it does not work in Plasma Wayland (issues with input redirection). Is there any problem with logging into an X11 session whenever I want to use that but using Wayland generally?
Did you know that mastodons were relatively short? Despite being nearly 40% more massive than modern African elephants, the American Mastodon was 25% shorter on average!
Linux Mint was the distro I chose little less than a year ago when I switched to Linux. Used it with Cinammon at first and then switched to XFCE. It’s been a cool journey and I have def learned a lot....
I use Komoot for wild walking and biking, and it’s incredible. Hugely more accurate and reliable. Just wondering if there’s something like that for city and intercity travel. Thanks for suggestions!
Since you’re talking about city travel, do you care about traffic? That has been my main issue with any alternatives.
Osmand: solid overall, you do need to buy Osmand+ in the play store if you need Android Auto functionality though (the f-droid version does not work with AA). But no traffic data so you’ll get the best route if there was no traffic. Another quirk is that you need to download the region you’re navigating in - you can view maps online but can’t navigate without the downloaded maps. And downloads are large chunks - it is by country or state/province so you’re likely using a lot of storage that you don’t need.
OrganicMaps: a cleaner interface than Osmand while using the same map data. No Android Auto support. It still needs to download maps but can auto download as you go and uses smaller chunks so you can download more locally.
MapFactor: one of the early offline options on Android before Google Maps offered the option to download. It has traffic data but I’ve found routing to be mediocre. It’s also subscription based rather than a purchase.
It’s tricky because the data itself is going to be biased here. Think about it - even the video game is specifically called “Spider-Man Miles Morales” while the one with Peter Parker is just called “Spider-Man.”
Katniss is actually a good example. I was not aware of the details, but the books apparently describe her as having “olive skin”. The problem though is that if you image search her all you get is Jennifer Lawrence.
I’m honestly getting a bit disillusioned with Cast. I replaced all my Sonos with Nest speakers because of the better voice assistant functionality. “Fully supported” services like YouTube Music (that can be integrated as your default music service) work fine. But when I’m trying to use Plex or Tidal I run into issues if I try to include things like my Nest Hub in a group or dynamically add/remove speakers from what’s playing.
The issue is with different Cast firmware versions. The Nest Audio is at 2.57 and my Nest Hub is at 1.71. The CCwGTV is likely kept up to date with the Nest Audio.
Yeah my Shield TV is on 1.68 and it works so I guess it's not the specific version. Still, the inconsistent performance is annoying. Not bad enough to get me to sell the speakers, but bad enough for me to not recommend them.
The main issue with Usenet is retention. I don’t mean that you should worry too much about retention on your particular providers, but just as a general concept the idea that after 10-15 years files go away means that it can be tough to find older media, especially media that is not popular enough for people to reupload.
People always talk about needing multiple servers but I just use Astraweb and I have been fine. I have a block plan on another server somewhere but I honestly didn’t even set it up when I reconfigured nzbget.
Movies and TV shows have been super easy to find on Usenet, but even with a couple private indexers I have found music and books to be hit or miss. I use Tidal with Plex and the $10 per month has been worth it to me simply because I listen to a ton of different music. That said, probably 80% of what I listen to has been available on Usenet.
I read a lot of nerdy books (fantasy and sci-fi) and that’s been easy enough to find, but my wife’s more mainstream tastes have actually been trickier.
I have a Galaxy Tab S7 and for a trip to Spain I downloaded some stuff to watch on the flight. When I got on the plane none of the stuff downloaded on Disney+ would play. Maybe an issue with downloading to the SD card? I don’t know, but regardless Disney offers SD card as a download destination so they should make sure it is...
Their help page says you can download to watch where you don’t have an internet connection. So if there is some DRM BS then that’s going directly against what their help page indicates.
I use Linux but the only issues I have are 1) lower quality, since the best quality is usually restricted to Chrome and Edge on Windows and Max, and 2) no downloads.
Their support site literally says “when you don’t have an internet connection” so if it’s working the way you describe then it’s not working as designed.

With AMD you will be using the open-source drivers for gaming which means openSUSE will give you the benefit of the latest and greatest drivers for best performance.
Honestly just install it with your DE of choice and install Steam. Even for non-Steam games I find that loading them through Steam to use Proton is typically better than setting up Wine independently.
