I always thought she sucked as an author, then she showed her ugly personality, she's got nothing.
I read the first book when it came out and thought it felt like if you asked a group of teenagers to come up with a wizard story in 5 minutes and they spout out a bunch of ideas that come from previous cartoons and movies and mixed it together. But I gave it a pass, it's a kids book and I was like 20 and things get rehashed over time.
Harry Potter is what current generation AI would come up given other wizard stories as input.
For sure! Ya I was happy to find it as letting MS force me into their world was not something I was willing to let happen and I didn't find another FOSS editor that was appropriate for my needs.
Just got a steam deck and immediately checked out the desktop mode, and I was somewhat surprised to see KDE and pacman as opposed to GNOME and apt, I have nothing against the former though a strong preference for the latter, anyone know why Volvo went in this direction?
People shitting on Gnome sound like kids bitching that the free pizza shop doesn't offer your favorite hamburger.
Also, all this sudden Gnome hate all over Lemmy is trendy as fuck, being trendy used to mean you were a loser with no original style, I guess the capitalists turned it into "viral" and made it cool.
I don’t see Gnome fans brigading KDE threads and circlejerking about KDE being awful and the devs being cunts.
I'm a Gnome user for like 20 years, I don't prefer KDE but glad it's there. I never have but would be happy to support KDE and understand any devs being cunts on occasion, I'm sure it's stressful. I'm glad they are there so I don't have to use proprietary software.
Gnome devs seem to just be red hat employees who don’t actually care about making a good DE
But Gnome is a great DE, I've used it as a daily driver for personal and at work for many years. I can't say I have any major complaints. What's so terrible about Gnome?
Let's say we don't care about the backendfrontend interconnection we see in most JS frameworks. We just want to program the backend. What would be the language of your choice?
Crystal + Kemal (Like Ruby + Sinatra but way faster, compiled) for the backend and templating with ECR (like ERB) and HTMX for the front-end (though HTMX is JS it feels like HTML with added features.
If you think of corporations as tools, like a straw used to suck resources from the working class it makes more sense.
The goal isn't corporate fitness, it's not even corporate profit exactly. The point of a corporation is to make money for those in control of it, who are probably on boards for several other companies and can make new brands and pay to manage reputations as needed.
From a class perspective, this was arguably wise. That CEO will probably get a massive bonus and the board can profit off of the stock price fluctuations. Operations are not that important at this stage as long as it's functional-ish. The name "Spotify" can be tossed or rehabilitated by PR firms.

Republicans are supremely confident in the stupidity of their audience. Giuliani is a terrible no-good person, but I seriously doubt he's this dumb himself.
If you’re running Linux you could just have different logins to either your main desktop
This is what I'd recommend, use different themes, color schemes, and/or the customer's logo so they all look very different. This is what I do to separate my business from personal stuff.
This will make any files/directories you create in the shared dir have the right permissions to share. But it doesn't apply to files already existing in the directory or files/directories created outside of this directory that are moved into the directory.
If you go the VM route, you might look into QEMU + KVM using .qcow2 files for the VM disk. Then you could just copy the qcow around and start the VM with a command (albeit a complex command). If this sounds interestiing, let me know and I can provide help and examples of how I do it or explanations.
