your weird ass bug and vampire kink bait

What? No. Usually I don't answer or downvote criticism because not everyone has to like my/anyone's content and criticism can absolutely be valid. If you're serious though then I'd say sexualizing this image to that degree is quite a leap. I mean, the vampire is Sesame Street's The Count for starters. There's nothing sexually explicit or even implied in either the image or the text.

Done, I subbed, and if I come up with more I'll try to contribute :)

Perhaps you'll enjoy this gem from way back - The Count Censored.

All the little math rocks bringing their 30 hp of damage.

Now that you mention it, that's probably one of the best ways to teach the basics. It's so much more fun when it's roasting baddies as opposed to counting apples.

I've never played a TTRPG where I got to play around with 9th level spells or the equivalent and now I'm jealous. That's insane!

@GrymEdm@lemmy.world avatar

That looks hilarious. It's like the TTRPG of ridiculous anime.

@GrymEdm@lemmy.world avatar

That damage amount is freaky. Player sold their soul to roll the most damage anyone will ever see lol.

GrymEdm OP ,
@GrymEdm@lemmy.world avatar

I like that a lot - it makes the crits feel more epic and unique.

So there's a story with this one (in description) ( lemmy.world )

The DM's pitch was to roll characters that were the local problem-solvers. Level 5, been adventuring in the same rural area for years, handled bandits/goblins/unruly wildlife. It was an opportunity to play odd/misfit characters for a while if we wanted to....

@GrymEdm@lemmy.world avatar

It definitely got us more emotionally involved than the usual "goblins are attacking the village" beginning! The wizard in particular was able to RP being really angry during some of the major fights as we were tracking down the "master". "You killed the people I grew up with, that I started adventuring with!" and so on.

they don't call me Tav the erection engineer.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, they might actually.

Said druid's two states of mind (and wild shape uses):

Edit: although now that I've looked it up (I don't think I've played a druid) you take on the physical attributes of the animal, so I guess you could get away with a Con dump so long as you're able to morph into something tanky when it's important.

*to roam the woods with. Anything beyond that is between you and your party/DM.

GrymEdm OP ,
@GrymEdm@lemmy.world avatar

It's a recent-ish question about whether someone should fear running into a man or a bear more in the woods. I prefer to leave the discussions alone as they can degenerate quickly, but I like some of the memes so I made a TTRPG version.

I'm so happy someone noticed :) It's why I chose that picture for a Nat 1 roll.

Here's some Paladin love. It's a 40k image but it should still work:

I don't know if you saw it, but Joel Haver did a video for BG3 that features (mostly) very low rolls applied to real life.

Only if time travel is somehow involved. Here's a National Library of Medicine article/book review on the history of HIV/AIDS.

"The earliest identified isolate of HIV-1 comes from an unknown male in Kinshasa, Congo, in 1959. The first identified patient with HIV infection and AIDS was a Scandinavian man in the 1960s, who had visited west-central Africa. Then came sporadic cases among gay men in the United States and among Haitians in the 1970s, leading to the global explosion in the '80s and '90s and the literal decimation of peoples in several tropical countries."

I'd say don't source the history of diseases from NFL players, but those who would take my advice seriously probably don't need it.

@GrymEdm@lemmy.world avatar

You're probably right :) I have this compulsion where I always want to know WHY something is wrong, so when I hear something like this I run off to look it up.

The Count is going to start teaching kids about corporate profits. "One billion extra dollars untaxed! Ha ha hah! 2 billion..."

Oscar the Grouch is going to be a working homeless who is forced to move his can every week by police.

GrymEdm ,
@GrymEdm@lemmy.world avatar

This is just blame-shifting propaganda for the uneducated. We've known for years that "just 100 companies are source of over 70% of emissions":

"Groundbreaking ‘Carbon Majors’ research finds 100 active fossil fuel producers including ExxonMobil, Shell, BHP Billiton and Gazprom are linked to 71% of industrial greenhouse gas emissions since 1988."

I don't entirely disagree. I'm not going to completely deny consumer responsibility, but I think it's important to hold corporations much more accountable. My reasons are: sabotaging alternatives (this is huge), tons corporate money in politics (actively preventing change even if people want it), climate denial and false research (lying), and making sure everyone but themselves gets blamed when problems can no longer be hidden.

In the case of manufacturing, when environmental controls are implemented the corporations affected often just ship the work abroad. So even if citizens manage to make change in their own country the corporations just export the damage. You may say that people could just stop buying, and there is that aspect of consumer responsibility I've acknowledged. However, when all the options are bad it's not realistic to say everyone should have forgone all cars, phones, or electricity produced by fossil fuels.

The general population has been deliberately denied information and agency to enact change. This latest statement in OP's article is just a continuation of decades of corporate greed over truth and the environment.

My bad. Sometimes it's hard to tell when you're having a discussion via message board because nuance can get lost. I'll edit that assumption out. Sounds like we're on the same side.
