Dymonika ,

That way my partner can edit their list and I can see what they're editing while doing the same on mine, thus avoiding collisions.

Even though you say you want to ditch this system, this is really as clever and thoughtful as it is creative and incredibly determined (in terms of sticking to FOSS to achieve this). You're inspiring!

Dymonika ,

Oh... I didn't know Obsidian isn't FOSS... Hmm, all I can think of is just some sort of read-only file on the other side's end, and opening the two of them in split-screen...

Dymonika ,

I can't imagine what that would be since FOSS itself is already so niche. Do you want to start such a program at your local library? That would be awesome!

Are there any WYSIWYG html editors? just curious

Hello, i was looking for a wysiwyg html editors i could use for my personal website, perferrably just as a simple open source desktop program on linux (though anything else is fine). i DID find something called KompoZer but i was wondering if there's any other ones, thanks

Can somebody explain why game makers don't start their own companies together?

It seems like every other week a game studio is massively laying off employees; sometimes after years of development. What I'm reading is that it's a quick way to lower expenses and pad the investors' pockets, flooding the market with developers and reducing their value, to then hire them back a few months later at lower...

Dymonika ,

the only viable option, assuming you're not already independently wealthy, is that you have to work another job to work on the game in the meantime, which means it will take even longer to come out.

Or be ConcernedApe.

Dymonika ,

Consider MacroDroid, which is free if you use no more than 5 macros.

How do you handle your passwords?

I rely on Bitwarden (slooowly migrating from... a spreadsheet...) and am thinking of keeping a master backup to be SyncThing-synchronized across all my devices, but I'm not sure of how to secure the SyncThing-synchronized files' local access if any one of my Windows or Android units got stolen and somehow cracked into or...

Dymonika OP ,

I guess it's in cases when I may not be able to use Bitwarden, but... I suppose it can be used everywhere! Clearly, I'm new to this thing, so that's good to know!

Dymonika OP ,

What if the HDD catches on fire or the room gets flooded while you're not home?

Dymonika OP ,

I do have some issues with their organization accounts though.

Like what?

Dymonika OP ,

they have a phenomenal track record in terms of security

I read that they have bowed to email subpoenas in the past.

Dymonika OP ,

PS Bitwarden (company) stores only the encrypted version on their servers so that’s not an issue either

Whew, thanks!! They're so Signal-level ingenious.

Dymonika OP ,

I'm mortified to say I could certainly do more in this regard. Do you recommend a preferred method?

Dymonika OP ,

Right, I can imagine that I could lock myself out otherwise. Thanks for the walkthrough!

Dymonika ,

But the official SyncThing was more recently updated, last I checked. Should that be of concern?

Dymonika ,

Oh, good to know, thanks!

Dymonika ,

For PC, audacity has all these features, but its pretty clunky to use.

You could eliminate that clunkiness by building an AutoHotkey script to blaze through the menu to select and slow down the recording in one press.

Dymonika ,

was purely for security reasons and not for disabling ad blockers.

I had not heard of Manifest v3 and actually can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. I guess you are.

Dymonika ,

they all contribute

The point is:

Not evenly.

Dymonika ,

I meant that the uneven distribution may be unfair, not that fairness = evenness. But yeah, I guess there'd be no way to tell what the optimal redistribution should be...

Dymonika ,

Interesting, and terrible of these impostors to do. Done! Now, where's the Internet police to take this ten steps further?

Dymonika OP ,

Oh my gosh, thanks for the heads-up. I had no idea!

Dymonika ,

So this is a question I've been wondering: is public WiFi safe to treat like a private one if you're using HTTPS everywhere?

Dymonika OP ,

Correct, Oracle VirtualBox was the furthest I went. It was interesting, but:

there is absolutely zero reason to not go the extra mile and hop to desktop freedom.

My digital life, in both professional and personal capacities, is intertwined with hundreds of my AutoHotkey scripts, which appears to be Win-only; AutoKey is the closest thing that I could find and is so much harder to use or even understand.

Anyway, thanks for that Titus utility!

Dymonika OP ,

That's been looming over my head, yeah... So then, EasUS Todo Backup? Seems to tick more boxes than any other on: How to Make a Full System Image Backup in Windows

Dymonika OP ,

Yikes, thanks!

Dymonika OP ,

Never heard of it; thanks for the tip!

Dymonika OP ,

True... forgot! I wanna move to Linux but I'm having trouble with Python (to port over my Windows-only AutoHotkey scripts)...

Dymonika ,

which you can play on Unity for a much, much better experience overall

How?

Dymonika ,

Noita is on sale!

Dymonika ,

I finally picked up the Glass Cannon perk for my first time last night, and died from accidentally launching a default/starter bomb.

Dymonika ,

which didn’t catch with me but did suggest I might actually be able to enjoy a card-based system with enough narrative context to keep me interested.

FYI, you can learn bits and pieces about Slay's lore through the various events that come up. A pretty large chunk of lore comes up upon one particular respawn/new run.

Dymonika ,

I'm guessing maybe you don't like detective games in which you have to uncover the plot yourself. I suppose it's all about the method of presentation for me.

Dymonika ,

I tried it and I just... couldn't get into it... It's sure incredibly stylish, though!

Dymonika ,

Cool, I already use AntennaPod and it's great!

Dymonika ,

Probably some sort of mix, like federated or crowd-sourcing, but either simply means more maintainers/supervisors.

Dymonika ,

shopping and delivery apps

So don't use 'em.

Dymonika ,

Everything can kill you.

Sounds like Noita.

Dymonika ,

Apparently Noita is gonna be in April's Humble Choice, if that's up your alley at all.

Dymonika ,

Wow, thanks, I'd never heard of this before! I'll pick it up.

Anyone else addicted to Balatro right now? ( www.playbalatro.com )

I'm not usually a huge fan of rogue-likes, but I've enjoyed a few, like Hades. I bought Balatro last week and have been absolutely smashing it ever since then. I love the way the game works, each run being so different even within the same framework, and the feeling when your build starts to go off is so incredibly satisfying....

Dymonika ,

I tried it repeatedly and just can't stand the sudden-death approach to every blind. I guess I like health/hull points too much.
