I'm looking to make links stand out by any means. I find myself always opening them and having something like YouTube or other video services open and start playing while in places where that's not ideal.
Can anyone try going to !newbrunswick and let me know if it works? It won't load for me and I tried on an account on that instance and still nothing....
Was very excited about this but turns out I can only use DuckDuckGo app, not DuckDuckGo in Firefox. I'm afraid this feature won't really be usable for me since I rely on FF add-ons and synchronization.
I wonder if there might be a workaround for that - eg those apps (like Better Open With or Open Link With) that can spot outgoing link requests and make themselves available as a default link opening option, so that the user can then specify a particular action to take or app to open.
If there was something like that that you could set as your default "search" app in the launcher, but which actually then ran an automation in, say, Macrodroid or whatever to open DDG's site (with FF picking up as your default launcher) then that might do the job?
I'm not technical enough to know how feasible that is, but seems like possibility maybe.
Of course it'd be better if Pixel Launcher just let you specify a link and a browser!
Off topic, but I really like the styling you've used there. I tend to go with dark mode all the time, and failing that, with just white, but the pastel(ish) punk looks cool. I'll need to try something like that sometime.
Question - I notice that the little nav bar dot with a number to indicate new replies or messages is now showing in dark grey rather than orange. I had a look in settings, but I can't see a way to choose the colour for that. Anyone know of a way?

for the past few months, notification history on Google Pixel devices has been partially broken.
When tapping on a previous notification, the app wouldn’t launch properly. Technically, it was still possible to access the notification, but you needed to first have the app open in the background, then tap the historical notification, and then open the app back up from recents.
I think this should be an option, but I'd also retain classic Sync up/down colours too for those who want to stay with it. I'm not sure I could ever get used to blue being an upvote, but I get why some might want it to.
I would like to not see image posts on my feed. Many communities are full of good information, but also plagued by useless memes. All of the image posts are useless memes. I do not want to see them....
This is a workaround, not a solution, but you could set your default view to Subscribed instead of All and then you’d only see the stuff you have chosen to see. Not perfect, but it’s one possibility.
It also has a series of cool (and also obviously useful for accessibility) colour filters which apply to the live view, but you can also take a snap and save it, so it acts as a pretty intense camera filter. Yellow on black is my favourite so far!

Might not be - when I got my P6P here in the UK I was eligible for (and got) the Bose headphones, which are pretty snazzy. You’d hope they would roll this out beyond the States.
The way it’s worded is a little ambiguous - it could mean 3 years (or whatever) of OS updates but 7 years of security updates. Which would still be good, but not quite as good as 7 years of OS updates.
In case you don’t know (I didn’t for a while) there’s a sort of replacement for the swipe down in One Handed mode, where you can swipe down on the very bottom of the screen to open notifications. It’s not 100%, and very occasionally seems to turn itself off, but on the whole it works well.
Others may disagree, but every time I find myself wanting to change the sort type, I tap the area circled on the left. But this opens the menu to switch between Subscribed/Local/All - instead I should be tapping the three lines on the right....
I comment more frequently than I post. Is there any way to set it to view comments by default? Even better, can we display a merged view of comments/posts in a single listing?
Yeah, not sure about this new image picker - it only seems to be able to access three folders, but I have a lot more than that. Is there a way to give Sync access to whichever folders I choose? Or better, to be able to access through my gallery app?
Is there a way to give the new photopicker access to more folders? I can only see three (Camera, Screenshots and Downloads) but I have multiple other folders (from editing apps, screenshots, downloads from Twitter etc), that I now can’t access from Sync.
