In all honesty, you should decide between Debian and Fedora. If you're new to this, stay away from Arch Linux, Gentoo, or Manjaro. Simplicity is key. The two systems I mentioned are known for their reliability, so you should be fine with either one.

Indeed, I use VSCodium on my Fedora system every day, but since the question was about VSCode, I provided information specifically related to VSCode.

Debian rigorously tests its packages over an extended period before they are released in the official version, ensuring a very stable system. This approach means the software is generally older, but it's been thoroughly vetted. Fedora, on the other hand, provides newer software while still maintaining a good level of stability.

On the other hand, Arch Linux — and its sub-distributions like Manjaro and Gentoo — releases software much more quickly, sometimes almost immediately which can kill your system during updates. I'd go so far as to say that Arch Linux is less stable than Windows.

TL;DR: If you don't want to find out five minutes before an online meeting that your system won't boot — avoid Arch Linux.

Okay. I figured it out.

9.9.9.9 has something they call Threat Blocking.
I need to use 9.9.9.10 to keep using their DNS without Threat Blocking.

But why are they blocking it?

Tarallo - selfhostable FOSS Trello alternative ( feddit.it )

Hi! For the ones of you that use Trello, I made a simple to use and host alternative in PHP. It's not a complete alternative like other projects, and I mainly made it to be able to host it on free PHP web servers while having control over data/attachments. It also support a basic importer for Trello JSON exports....

I got so excited reading this post, but as I read that the project will not be open source, my excitement immediately faded away

I forced myself to use Wayland for a week.

Most of the applications worked out of the box. For some I had to manually change the settings and/or environment variables to make them work on Wayland.. And single ones did not work at all.

If it weren't for the fact of these "single ones" I would have stayed on Wayland.

However, as long as I can't use my system fully functionally, I remain on XOrg.

That's what I've been doing since flameshot stopped working for me. I ask about the built-in solution, because pasting the image into GIMP and blurring specific parts drastically increases the time to prepare such a screenshot

You can probably ignore the idle power consomuption and enable Wake On LAN and turn it on and of over the network. Is that a solution for you?

Voice Assistant HTTP gate

Hi, I have an AI backend ready to go, so I’m looking for an Android app that will be the implementation of the Android voice assistant and be able to convert my speech to text and send that text via HTTP request to a specific URL (my backend). Then read the response text, convert it to speech and say it....

Thanks, admittedly it is not open source, but I was able to achieve the desired effect 😄
