makmarian , to Fediverse in Is anyone using PixelFed? How is your experience so far?
@makmarian@kbin.social avatar

Yes, the hashtag feature works for me. Are you logged in to Pixelfed? It seems like you have to be logged in to be able to see the hashtag feed.

makmarian , to Fediverse in Is anyone using PixelFed? How is your experience so far?
@makmarian@kbin.social avatar

Yes, I have a user on pixelfed.social. I like it, and use it daily.
It is kind of like Instagram, but in the fediverse and is open source.
A cool feature Pixelfed has is the ability to follow hashtags, so your home feed will be a mix between posts from the users you follow and the hashtags you follow.

makmarian , to Open Source in So, I want a t-shirt to show off love to open source. I need some org to buy it from (so my money counts). I also want it to have a clear message to regular people.
@makmarian@kbin.social avatar

Thank you for the suggestion! I've added the link you provided alongside the donate page link :)

I have a GitHub repo that lists merch for open source projects and organizations that promote open source software.

old.reddit.com (and the .onion one) works in the Tor Browser, for me at least. I am not logged in

makmarian , to Linux in NetBSD - thoughts?

There are some BSD communities on Lemmy/kbin, but they don't have many subscribers yet.
Here are the ones I know of:

I have Jellyfin installed on my homeserver, works great for listening to music in my opinion. I sometimes use Bandcamp to find and buy/download music, which I then upload to Jellyfin.

makmarian , (edited ) to Linux in Where can I buy Linux merch and also support FOSS?
@makmarian@kbin.social avatar

I created a GitHub repo a couple of weeks ago to list merch for open source projects, but there are not many things there yet.
https://github.com/makmarian/open-source-merch-list

Note: I've tried to make sure I found the correct link for each project, but if unsure, please double check. Also, I have not bought from any of the links listed, so I cannot say anything about the quality of the different merch.

makmarian , to Linux in What are people daily driving these days?
@makmarian@kbin.social avatar

I've been using EndeavourOS with KDE for a bit under 2 years now (I think) on both my desktop and laptop. It is Arch based and easy to install. And for my home servers I run Proxmox

makmarian , to Reddit Migration in So... it's been a while now since the great exodus. How are you all doing my fellow refugees?
@makmarian@kbin.social avatar

I really like it here on Kbin, and I'm on here daily :-)
I don't really use Reddit anymore; I usually only check Reddit if there is something I need help with or to look up something specific

makmarian , to Linux in What is your honest opinion on EndeavourOS?
@makmarian@kbin.social avatar

I've been using EndeavourOS for a little over a year, and I am very pleased with my experience so far. The only issue I've encountered was a GRUB problem, which I had to fix manually using the terminal.

makmarian , to Free and Open Source Software in Does anyone think that the Fediverse would make a much better next phase for the web then all of this Metaverse bull?
@makmarian@kbin.social avatar

There is an open source metaverse-like project called Third Room that is built on Matrix. I have not tested it too much, but still an interesting project
