For a short adventure / one-shot, I played an intelligence-based tome warlock (using some of the play test materials). His patron was… himself, in the past. He was a terrible evil wizard who realized the error of his ways, wiped his own memory, and restarted. His tome was just his old spell book, most of which was pretty gnarly stuff. Slowly finding that out would have been a fun journey if he was a long-term character.

It’s a consequence of the terminally-online brain rot idea that if you do not explicitly state that you are against a bad thing, you must be actually a huge supporter of it. Or that if you do explicitly state that you are against a bad thing, the fact that you didn’t mention a different bad thing means you are a huge supporter of it. Ad nauseam.

So many people in this thread saying “who cares it’s just a button” without having any idea what it actually does.

Want the mute switch behavior? Well that’s the default thing the button does and you can use it without looking at it.

Want to program the button to do like literally anything? You can do that. For example:

  • Launch the camera app, or any other app
  • Control your smart home accessories
  • Toggle Do Not Disturb, or another focus mode
  • Run a command on a remote server via ssh
  • Start recording audio in case you’re around cops doing cop stuff
  • Or anything else you can program in with a Shortcut

It is infinitely remappable. To anything you can program in with a Shortcut, which is a ton of non-trivial stuff. Which they said explicitly.

I’m looking forward to the quality-of-life upgrades that come along with the expansion, whether or not I purchase it.

(Of course I’m going to purchase it. >1000 hours for like thirty bucks? I can hand over a few more dollars.)

I know you’re trying to help, but do you understand how much negative comments like this tend to stick in a person’s brain? They’re doing their best, and although you intended to be helpful, your intention doesn’t matter much if the outcome is that they feel crappy.
