Pixel and GOS , very easy to install. Warranty blaha.
Oneplus usually have a lot of lineage support.
Spend and afternoon on YouTube , XDA forum and learn.
All of your brand's listed are bloated. Samsung is really bad though.
ordered a new phone so I wanted a new SIM for a clean slate. My country require KYC for SIM cards. So i ordered this https://www.ebay.com/itm/295938085941 I see now that the card is being shipped from Israel....
Yea I'm looking in do network monitoring when first connecting the phone. Will need root it seems. But since I will install GOS and reset it afterwards it would probably be my best bet for verifying no bad connections . Long time since I used wireshark but should be possible.
Recently I just hit by stolen card detail and makes me searching a virtual card service. Anyone knows any works in the UK and EU region? Apparently Privacy.com needs SSN to work now. Thanks.
I had a need for one piece of corporate windows program once. Installed Windows AME , only way to really get rid of all crap. All the debloating software and scripts get easily reversed by windows otherwise.
I want to mainly use it for privacy over its "security". I don't know what makes everyone fine with running it on fucking google pixels. Is there some kind of "low security" version or something for other phones? I'm so tired of certain organizations infiltrating privacy communities and making people believe in improving...
Signal with fake number. https://sms-man.com/?ref=qPLi0ekHzn_c is a good option , yea I added the referral link, remove last part if you wish. Or use a spare number , or wait until usernames are available , or matrix nexttalk and so on as already mentioned
Well a few ways . Create it on a pixelphone running GOS thru the sandboxed playstore . I also believe it works on any phone running below android 5.
Get a fake number. Plenty of options on Google I use a paid service using Monero. Worth it , cost like 3 euro for a few hours, or a few cents for a one-time SMS.
You don't need a sim to get a verification code. Here is a service I use https://sms-man.com/?ref=qPLi0ekHzn_c but plenty of free ones if you got the time to test 20 non working numbers to find one that works. Just Google temporary SMS or recieve SMS online

Hello internet users. Someone in my family is looking to buy a car and wanted some recommendations for a private one. They are looking to buy new, and need Android Auto and CarPlay. I know all new cars suck for privacy by default, but I was hoping someone here could offer some insight as to which cars can be made better and what...
Dacia, least bad one. Made a dedicated phone for the car without personal info as well. Rooted calyx OS , microG, organic maps and spottube. No simcard and VPN on WiFi. Not sure how much is still leaked but a lot better at least.
I've spent some time searching this question, but I have yet to find a satisfying answer. The majority of answers that I have seen state something along the lines of the following:...
I've been dailying the same Mint install since I gave up on Windows a few years ago. When I was choosing a distro, a lot of people were saying that I should start with Mint and "move on to something else" once I got comfortable with the OS....
If you are happy with the way things are no need to change, want to try something out ? Live CD or VM. Dual boot if you want to keep 2 systems.
Mint is pretty good. I like peppermint myself. A halfway stop between mint and arch. Shit works out of the box but runs on 1 GB ram. Worth checking out if you want to get some extra out of you computer
Basically title. I waited on installing F droid for a long time because my phone threw many scary warnings when I tried a long time ago. But now I have it, and I got some fossify apps, but since there is no "Editor's Picks" on F- droid I dont really know where to go from here....
For some it's a trust issue since they F-droid is a middleman however with reproducible builds I don't have that worry. Feels like a good thing to have the code verified twice.
I have obtainium as well but had issues with some beta apps I wanted to use like organic maps. Obtainium only works if it is the way it's setup. Organic maps did not follow obtainiums way
Also to use obtainium you actually need to know the app exist, I have a lot of stuff from F-droid I would not have found without it
I'm brand new to Linux, running Mint on an old laptop to get a few more years out of it. I can install things via CLI, but I prefer GUI if available....
True but you could set up a schedule /cronjob to move the files from the shared folder perhaps. Would be a bit extra traffic I guess if pics are not deleted on main device regularly.
Announced in early August and initially planned for the end of the month, the Fedora Asahi Remix distribution is finally here for those who want to install the Fedora Linux operating system on their Apple Silicon Macs....
Most are talking about the laptops. I have my eyes on a Mac mini to run asahi on. The biggest downsides with Mac hardware is reperability and upgrades. Some issues the Mac mini doesn’t have Vs laptops is ofc is no battery replacement , screen and keyboard webcam, mouse to use. and there are hubs for installing more storage. Ram is ofc a big minus. Looking at m2 16 GB 512 mb. And extend storage with something like this macworld.com/…/mac-mini-upgrade-hub-storage-ether… 40 Gbs thunderbolt would make it easy to extend storage at least.
As long as it doesn’t break I would take this over any alternative minipc . I use my ThinkPad today but 99% of use is at home anyway so no need for portability. Need to wait some time to get the extra funds for it but something like that…
I will have to look into it , but all reviews/comparisons I have seen has been always that the Mac beats the others. I do not game , I want audio and some video editing besides code.
Power consumption is a point as well as I am planning on going off the powergrid eventually.
Long story short, I have a desktop with Fedora, lovely, fast, sleek and surprisingly reliable for a near rolling distro (it failed me only once back around Fedora 34 or something where it nuked Grub). Tried to install on a 2012 i7 MacBook Air… what a slog!!! Surprisingly Ubuntu runs very smooth on it. I have been bothering all...
Long time since I used Ubuntu, remember updates breaking network twice… Peppermint OS, Debian(and devuan if you don’t like systemd) based. all the important bits (not arch level) but nothing more. Rolling, Runs on 1 GB ram. Haven’t distro hopped anymore since I found it.
True , however most people do not use a pin for sim. And if you have the access a lot of info can be gain from a simcard. And even if you ain’t got access to network, any incoming traffic will go to you.
