This isn't the second time, Proton complies with Swiss law regularly.

Also the wedding picture cut the poor woman's thumb and fingertips off for some reason, and swirled a bunch of rice. This is the best, most optimal promotional picture they could put together?

As a manager who sometimes hires, I can't say that I would ever particularly care about the education section for the types of roles I hire for, let alone put it first and foremost.

Also, personally, my own CV combines my role's duties and its achievements/projects together for each of the jobs I've had, with a primary focus on the recent.

If you don't have an experience section at all, then sure that'd bump it up the list.

I'm on DietPi 9 and the latest version for Debian 12 is 1.17.1, sadly. Though I do see 1.19.1 is in testing as of today, according to Debian's package tracker site. Probably not worth trying to install an unstable version of it.

ChaoticEntropy ,
@ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk avatar

Well that's definitely one option, I guess...

It is some bullshit, to be sure. Basically a middle finger as they waltz out the door.

Is it AI...? There's a separate pic of the same cat and rubber ducks do come in different sizes, especially if you're aiming for novelty.

Weird rubber duck faces are kind of a rubber duck thing, and the mega duck seems like a pile of various sized ducks.

Considering the bath has a TV screen, I assume it is something electronic but it is too blurry to see. You can have sockets for shaving gear or something more specific. It all looks very Japanese.

Under water hair splays out and floats/waves in the water as pictured, out of water it is slick.

Nothing really leaps out in these pictures to me that says "that's impossible" rather than just unclear due to angle and picture quality. If anything the degree of consistency between each of the separate images gives me more cause to think it is real.

SocCenter is worse then Friendica to my ears.

Easier to character create someone who you have more specific preferences over. Can’t really get as invested in how aesthetically pleasing my generic human bloke is, but I play more male non-human races.

A lot of “replaceable” things are still considered so even if you can’t just pop it out and stick a new one in yourself with zero effort.

It's a sub-classification of privilege. "Privileged" could mean any number of things.

New laws allowing the Department for Work and Pensions to monitor the bank accounts of benefit claimants are predicted to lead to 7,400 extra prosecutions for fraud each year – resulting in 250 custodial sentences. ( www.publictechnology.net )

Impact assessment forecasts that prosecutions will rocket, but claims staff will take ‘account of circumstances and vulnerabilities’ of benefit recipients and ‘no automatic decisions will be made on data alone’...

ChaoticEntropy ,
@ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk avatar

I’m sure that this won’t primarily impact the most vulnerable in society, whilst the fraction of actual fraudsters just change tact. I’m also sure that’s not the point of this legislation.

How to Geek basically wants to whitelist the internet in order to get to their bloody site. Which is a shame as I like their content.

    My first thought on this was immediately “did you also reserve that static IP address on your router to make sure it remains assigned”. From what I’ve read that does seem to be the issue, so that’s a little validating.

    ChaoticEntropy ,
    @ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk avatar

    I’m very happy with my little PiHole on a Pi Zero 2 W running DietPi, easy set up and then you can just forget about it apart from periodic updates. No issue with it being via WiFi either, which makes placing it much easier.

    ChaoticEntropy ,
    @ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk avatar

    As long as the router has the IP explicitly reserved for the device your PiHole is running off of then it won’t be reassigned.

    ChaoticEntropy ,
    @ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk avatar

    What is worth 30 dollars to you…? You said you’d have paid 15 for this, which is absurdly low in this day and age. A small expansion pack in the early 2000s would have cost more than that.

    You want double the content in this DLC for 30?

    ChaoticEntropy ,
    @ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk avatar

    What a bizarrely corporate measure of quality this is… this is how you end up with mile wide, inch deep grind fests that just ooze “value” by pure volume. I think expecting this amount of content for $15 at this point just means that you can expect no content at all, because it won’t be commercially viable to keep all your dev teams spun up to work on it, along with patches.

    Can the government decrypt your WhatsApp chats?

    For open source messengers, you can check whether they actually encrypt your messages and whether the server has access to your encryption keys but what about WhatsApp? Since it’s not open source, you can’t be sure that the encryption keys aren’t sent to the server, right? Has there been a case where a government was able...

    ChaoticEntropy ,
    @ChaoticEntropy@feddit.uk avatar

    Yeah… I see no reference to this anywhere… some stuff in 2021 about WhatsApp protesting privacy law changes in India and some stuff about the liability of Group Admins for things posted in groups. Nothing about broken encryption measures.

    I can only assume they are referring to WhatsApp Group Admins, who are inherently part of the group, as opposed to WhatsApp company admins.
