For the love of God, please delete my fucking account. It's been over a month. Please.

I just want to not have it be here anymore, I want to stop having my votes public and just make a new account on another site that has more privacy and better features (like automatic account deletion).

Do I need to log out first? What's taking so long? Why does it even go into a manual queue?

I quite agree on that!
There was one service I couldn't get rid of my info cos they required ridiculous amounts of work to do before they would have done so! It was frustrating...I gave up, they won.

I still keep losing comments.
Stuff pointing from notifications lead to no such comment - cannot find anything with Ctrl+F and I see no page numbers or any other indicators of any other pages existing.

I was once handed a princess to use as a playable character in my first text-based chat roleplaying game with 3-5 other people of girls and boys.
It quickly grew on me and I started using girls more often as my playing character from then on.

I won't deny that looking at them could be generally nicer, but I believe it's not the main reason. At least when it comes to text roleplaying, I like to (try) think and behave like a lady in games, to roleplay in their world of view. It's neat in its own way and I love the immersion when it hits me!

This is the part that starts feeling epic for me.
When your character starts feeling deep enough that you start creating a personality to them.

I don't recall me making as deep personalities on males than females.

I wanna experience what it’s like to have less rights

How many games make beings behave differently around females than males?
I've played lots of different games and I don't recall my lady characters having less rights in any of them.

I think it's easier to find different gender behavior towards your characters in tabletop or text roleplaying games, where the player has much more freedom over their characters, NPC's and the world around them than over videogames people have coded to behave in a certain way and a certain way only.

Didn't cross my mind that someone would suggest that I'd be trans (just) because I want to play female characters too (and sometimes robots and others).
The thought alone feels so strange to me (to me personally)!

Of course a joke is a joke and OK in my case (when the intention is good) but if someone insisted that I'm a trans based on my game characters only, I would get upset.

If you haven't been following the Interstellar magazine, I've added a lot of functionality since the last thread here, including views for magazines/users/domains, better navigation for wider screens, QoL additions (like the @ button to reveal originating domain, inspired by Artemis), and a lot of different bug/functionality...

I've been working for the past week on a new kbin app. At the moment, it's just a prototype and only the "Feed" view has content (you can't sign into an account or post anything yet); you can see threads, thread images, thread comments, thread links, and thread votes/boosts. You can also change the "Theme Mode" and "Instance...

Just tested it.

  • The Mags tab shows mags but clicking them doesn't do anything
  • Changing Instance host to "kbin.social" gives me a "something went wrong" when I go back to the Feed tab. Also the magazines now give me the same "something went wrong"

I'm at Android version 12.

I have a metal mini-titan in my chat text roleplay with friends. It got born 2 weeks ago (game lore time). It doesn't speak and understands pretty much nothing when other party members try to communicate.
Still they have been happy with my character and they have played normally.
(I have agreed that if it becomes too boring we can find machinery that helps communicating.)
I told about our game to an acquaintance and she seemed happy/intrigued of my character choice!

I'm starting to see some serious downsides to being able to see who downvotes you. ( kbin.social )

A few days ago I downvoted someone's comment, and the next day I happened to notice every single comment I've ever made had at least one downvote. All from the person I dared to downvote the ONE time. I straight up asked why they did it, and they seem to think I'm an "obvious" troll account that "apparently just exist to...

I'm okay with someone not agreeing with me. I'm okay with someone downvoting me.
Someone downvoting everything I have and will ever make? Well, there's a magazine I'd love to get more folks in and this behavior could cripple it badly, since I get next-to-no votes in there from others so it's already difficult to get more eyes on it. But other than that I think I get more agreements so I wouldn't care that much.

Therefore I'm happy that there's an upvote and downvote (and a reputation) system.

Nothing has any value until someone gives value to something.
I give value to my reputation points - it's a force that drives me further into coming up with and posting content 😁 And sometimes I enjoy comparing my points to someone else!
I started fediverse with Lemmy but moved to kbin pretty much because of the reputation system being here.

Don't get me wrong though - I don't care that much about downvoting and I don't let it affect negatively on my behavior. At the end of the day, regarding other people in the Internet has more value to me than Internet points 😌

I understood that boost in kbin is the same as upvote in Lemmy.
What is voting in kbin? Boosts?
What is this CSS? How does it function?

I'm not sure how to look for indications of new comment markings, in both kbin and Lemmy.

I think it would depend on how you work with it.

If you use it only for bookmarking threads, then kinda yeah.
But if you just give thumbs up to stuff without ever returning later, then it would probably be difficult to find your bookmarks from between.

My personal opinion?
I'd rather keep them apart, cos I feel they are a different function and useful apart as well.

Of course I need to access information I can't find elsewhere at Reddit once in a while but if I create content in there, it's about kbin only.

Looking at interesting discussions to be a part of, trying to make kbin a more fleshed-out service with ideas rushing through my head, enjoying the reputation points dripping in 😃 And trying to come up with different themes under a topic to a magazine while dreaming to get even a few more peeps over there!

Reddit is still valuable to me because lots of game-related troubleshooting data is (still) there.
Well, other potential topics as well.

Yeah, I can rather make a new topic here instead and wait for an answer for months that may or may not come or make a discussion in Steam about it, but also Steam doesn't somehow feel as convenient surrounding for me...

I'm hopeful to see that side up and running here at kbin at some point as well though!
