One of the parents was running around the drain making a bunch of noise, went to investigate and found the baby trapped inside. I fished it out with a hair net wrapped around a coat hanger that I taped to a broom handle.
Interesting problem here. So I self host jellyfin, happy to share my (owned) movies with my family. Well, my mother has asked me to digitize her collection too and have me host it. Originally, fine, you give your movies to me, I host them, same thing....
I loooove bad movies. Not religious-bad, more mystery science theater bad.
I rip everything and plunk it into it's own library just for me.
If you have the space and time, go ahead and limit access to her. She's already seen them or will anyway. You hosting a file for one individual isn't going to tip the grand scale of anything.
If you have a moral issue against it, don't host the content. You've already made up your mind, it's just taking you a while to realize it.
Google saw neat idea, built cool software, users happy. Replace cars to generate map data with phones for utmost accuracy. Trends of maximizing profit from cool technology makes users sad and services suck like other popular sites. Host begs Google not to make maps suck next.
The video is an old one about Katrina. I need it for homework. I have tried accessing it from CNN's website but CNN in their infinite wisdom put DRM on the video that is publicly available, and I assume that is why it doesn't work on mull, librewolf, or chromium (all show same error about neon request failed). I looked on the...
My current setup is an old MacBook woth 2 external HDDs, and I am almost happy with it, for now. I just saw this mini PC on Amazon and I am considering buying it, just to try out a new thing. I think it is cheap (~22 USD)....
I researched SFP adapter compatibility for my ISP fiber and came to the conclusion it wasn’t worth it. The copper converter they provide has to be either registered or run ISP based configs. I found one from the same brand and stats as my ONT but it was $400.
I read ISP optical networks use a lot more config to weed out gremlins and compatibility isn’t the same as copper. But it’s mostly ISP based and if they didn’t have a profile for the device, it probably wouldn’t work.
I could be wrong though or things changed since then. I’d like to have fiber straight into my router too.
The Civil Liability for Doxing Act, which takes effect on January 1, 2024, passed after a unanimous vote. I’m courious about exception B (3). Someone could find themselves on a lot of secretive blacklists. If your name got wrapped up in unionization, how screwed could you be?

Hi, I’ve bought a Netgear GS108LP and it seems that it isn’t working correctly. As you can see in the video, when I power the switch on, the right LEDs (PoE Mode) flash yellow for about 1 second, but the left LEDs (Link/ACT Mode) don’t show anything. The cable connected to port 1 is directly connected to my router and the...
Man, I’ve had problems with that line of switches too. Not that exact model, but similar.
First idea would be factory reset and do that a couple times.
Second idea is unplug everything, reboot, and wait. Then wait some more. Just when you feel like it shouldn’t be taking this long, give it another minute to plug your stuff in.
My particular managed model seemed to have a problem linking at different speeds. Your Hue bridge uses an older/cheaper chip that is perfectly applicable for the device, but runs at a max slower speed. Try not connecting that. It caused all sorts of problems for me and terrible performance for all devices.
Eventually I returned my Netgear unit and got a TP Link thingy that’s been working great.
too bad this means only losses for the middle-men, that also pump millions into lobbying for increasingly stupid IP laws - so it’s not likely to happen :/
I quickly skimmed the video because I don’t have 17 min to be talked at right now, but if I recall, this has been done in the past. He may have mentioned it though.
“Music” CD-R’s had an additional tax that went to copyright holders. They were the same discs, just more expensive.
I was told by administratiin that a bit of my (and classmates) college tuition went to copyright holders.
And there was a plan to tax ISP’s but I think that one failed to launch.
I’ve ended up with a number of machines on my network, and a need to name them all in a somewhat logical way. For several years I had them named after the planets, which worked well until the PCs for myself, my girlfriend, servers and Raspberry Pi’s quickly summed up to more than the eight planets. I’ve broadened it...

For example, something that is too complex for your comfort level, a security concern, or maybe your hardware can’t keep up with the service’s needs?
