I'm going to be moving into a van in the next few years full-time, travelling around Australia and using gyms for showers and, well, exercise. I don't know if it's already an issue over here or not, but I sure hope it won't be by the time I can move out in the van full-time.

DreitonLullaby OP ,

Hm. The link is actually a video on odysee.com. I'm experiencing no issues on my end, and it's even letting me watch the video in a miniplayer within Lemmy itself. I'm using LibreWolf, a privacy fork of Firefox, so I don't know if this is an issue on Chrome-based browsers or not.

DreitonLullaby OP ,

Maybe convert the times to your time zone if you want to make sure of the correct date/time.

DreitonLullaby OP ,

Ah, great! Glad I mentioned it.

DreitonLullaby OP ,

Follow the instructions on the main website for the project which I've linked in the post. https://spotpassarchive.github.io/

DreitonLullaby OP ,

Awesome. Thanks for helping out!

DreitonLullaby OP ,

No worries! Yes, the dump unfortunately won't have any use after the 8th. This is because the useful part of the dump is a URL which the devs need in order to access the content from Nintendo's servers before they shut down. Once the servers are down, the URL's can technically still be dumped, but they will just now be useless.

DreitonLullaby OP ,

Thanks

DreitonLullaby OP ,

Awesome, thank you so much for stickying the post so that more people will see this, and for dumping some data!

Something you're not understanding, or just shocked by the news?

Edit: Sorry, unlike what I said below, there is no data that sticks around after a factory reset, sorry to anyone who I may have wasted the time of.

Thanks a lot for dumping. There is also (apparently) data that sticks around in the background from the previous console-owner if you got the console pre-owned, even if it was factory reset.

DreitonLullaby OP , (edited )

Hey, thanks so much for dumping both of your consoles. Unfortunately, even though I'm not officially part of this project, I'm sorry to say that at least for the period of April 6, at 12PM to 4PM PDT (Pacific Daylight Time), the maintainer of the server mistakenly didn't see that the server had run out of storage space. This means that any dumps made by anyone within this time period didn't actually get archived in the end. The exact amount of time is unknown. This 4 hr period is just the least amount of time the server was down for, so for all he knows, it could have been for the entire day of April 6th up until 4PM in the afternoon (PDT). Again, even though this wasn't because of me, I'm sorry about this. If you can, could you please make the dump one last time if possible?, as the archive servers are now working correctly again. DreitonLullaby OP ,

Thanks a lot! It's unfortunate this happened, I'm hoping there weren't too many who tried uploading during this time.

DreitonLullaby OP ,

Sorry, I was wrong about data sticking around after a factory reset, this is just something I was told. I'm editing my comment to clarify that.

DreitonLullaby OP ,

Super Mario Bros. 35 😂

But yeah, in all seriousness, I think this is way too soon considering the 3DS was officially discontinued less then 4 yrs ago.

DreitonLullaby OP ,

No worries. Awesome. Hope you enjoy your newly modded 3DS.
I recommend a Homebrew app called FTPD that lets you wireless transfer files to your computer, but if your on a New 3DS or New 2DS, it's particularly handy because it reduces the amount of needing to screw open your entire 3DS each time you want to transfer files.

DreitonLullaby ,

You mustn't have looked at many games then. As someone who 95% only buys games from GOG, and has a wishlist of 190+ games, the vast majority of the games on the wishlist have DRM in their Steam versions.

DreitonLullaby ,

How is the meme acknowledging that GOG installers are shared in groups? This doesn't say anything about sharing anything in a group, other than "My game has no DRM, and yours does"

(Hypothetically) How terrible would Privacy be if using dial-up internet in modern day?

I was born in 2002 and wasn't really much exposed to the internet until 2012. I saw my older brother and sister watching YouTube on my Dad's laptop in 2007 with a (presumably ethernet) cable, but I'm sure they weren't using dial-up, and I think most people had abandoned it by that time....

Does anyone know how to install the physical CD version of Age of Empires III with Wine?

Like many old PC games, the game comes with an activation-code on the back of the case. The installer asks me for the 25 digit code on the case. I look, and I can see that the code definitely contains 25 digits. But than when I try to input the 25 digit code into the 5 text boxes provided (5 digits per box) only 4 digits can be...

DreitonLullaby OP ,

Oh, cool, I didn’t know the Definitive Edition was free now; nice. Still, I’d like to get the original version working if I can.

DreitonLullaby OP ,

Can you see the digits you input or are they replaced with asterisks or something so it’s not obvious if the software accepted the input.

Yeah, I can see them; they aren’t asterisks.

I’d just try to input the code and let the installer switch me to the next input field automatically. That’s how it usually works.

That’s the first thing I tried; it’s the usual way. But I solved the textbox issue by installing Microsoft Core Fonts with winetricks corefonts

DreitonLullaby OP ,

I’m not sure how to mess around with different fonts or how to apply different ones
