Just a reminder that there are tons more options like this (and this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to movie piracy).

I've been really impressed by Dart as a programming language. I'll admit I don't have a breadth of knowledge, but coming from C# I feel right at home, and it has a few extra neat tricks that C# is picking up in return (like empty list syntax and the spread operator).

Notice Linus doesn't use tabs; he just thinks the parser shouldn't die when it sees them.

+1 for LibreDNS! I don't see it mentioned enough.

That is the pre-forked version, which doesn't have nearly as much support as Magnolia's version.

The pre-forked version's code is still on GitHub, but the last commit was 6 months ago.

Here's a bit of history of the forks (unfortunately the conversation was on GitLab, so this is an archive).

Alternative To Emby Shared Server for Movies/TV?

Wanted to ask if there was another premium (or free) surefire way to get movies and TV shows in high quality without much hassle? I had an emby shared server that pretty much had anything I wanted but it looks like it shut down completely. I also didn't notice that the reddits for plex/emby shares had been banned for a while...

I think most comments are missing the fact that you were using someone else's Emby server and might not want to set up your own.

If that's the case, you could look into a movie-web instance like https://sudo-flix.lol/. Check out the list of instances.

If you really want to be overwhelmed with options, take a look at the FMHY page.

I ended up just disabling that notifications channel cuz I don't care that much it it fails in the background.

Wow, that's a gamechanger! HeliBoard has so many neat little tricks like that, but sometimes they're hard to find.

Just FYI, it is on IzzyOnDroid!

Thanks for this clarification! That is slightly more palatable.

I think it's the opposite. I think he saw her as a girl whom he was protecting from trans girls using "her" bathroom.

I've been trying to explain to someone recently why rebasing and force pushing their feature branch has no benefit when we use a squash commit strategy for merging to main.

While you're 100% right, is there anything wrong with this approach? Sometimes I like to keep by personal branches clean, especially before I open a PR.

WindowsEnjoyer

Not that I like Windows

Hmm....

Seriously tho, agreed!

It would apply to files and folders in Dolphin (file explorer) as well.

This is the answer! noads.libredns.gr for the win!

From what I've heard, yes! They claim they keep no logs, and of course it's all open source. But of course do your own research!

Thunder! It is

  • FOSS
  • Cross-platform (Android/iOS and you can even build for desktop or web)
  • Has some neat features that I haven't seen in other clients, like a really customizable FAB, material you theming, multiple anonymous instances, ping time and version info for instances, supports 0.19 including new features like instance blocking, an advanced share that can create a microblog style image to share posts
  • Very good accessibility
  • and lots more.

Coming from Relay for Reddit, I feel very at home in Thunder!

Out of curiosity, can you give an example of this? I would think the "real identity" of people on Lemmy wouldn't matter nearly as much as on a people-focused platform like Mastodon or Twitter/X. Plus, icons can be faked and there's no concept of a verified identity, so the username is the best indicator of identity anyway.

Looks like one of the maintainers/contributors has already set up a fork.

I’d like to think he was just trying to be respectful of the author, probably having worked quite a bit together. But he changed his mind pretty quickly when he saw the original author had totally checked out. Maybe that’s a generous reading though.

I upvoted this post and maybe I’ll see it again once the feature is implemented. :)

Is there a de facto or generally recognized “best” Invidious instance? Like piped.video is for Piped?

Thunder is the closest I’ve found to Relay!
