ubuntu touch, its actually at a usable state

potentiallynotfelix ,

dont expect to daily drive it yet ive had an issue with random powering off and there isnt volte support yet which is required for carriers that have dropped 3g. VOLTE is coming though

potentiallynotfelix OP ,

To clarify - I only have one thing mounted at the time I run umount -a. Thanks for the helpful individuals who answered my question.

Torrenting exposes your public IP. In a country where government doesn't care, does that pose a risk?

I honestly don't believe I will have any legal trouble because I don't do anything like cp or worse, I just pirate media I like, not even porn. But across users of communities, or on public trackers, is IP exposure something to be concerned about?

potentiallynotfelix ,

It's more up to the isp. I torrented VPN free for a couple years when I lived in Burlington, Vermont and used the Burlington Telecom ISP. No copyright letter, no fees, and no legal issue.

potentiallynotfelix ,

Likely not because they aren't regulated by apple. Don't take my word though

potentiallynotfelix ,

There wouldn't be a victim, it's AI.

potentiallynotfelix OP ,

CORRECTION: I meant to put elementary os at "Completely pointless" instead of "Maliciously bad"

potentiallynotfelix OP ,

D*bian 🤮

potentiallynotfelix ,

Pick up an old Samsung TV, they are dumb and mine work great still

potentiallynotfelix ,

Just don't buy a new tizen os tv

What're some of the dumbest things you've done to yourself in Linux?

I'm working on a some materials for a class wherein I'll be teaching some young, wide-eyed Windows nerds about Linux and we're including a section we're calling "foot guns". Basically it's ways you might shoot yourself in the foot while meddling with your newfound Linux powers....

potentiallynotfelix ,

I haven't but I'm always terrified of doing it

Is there a way to download a Windows.iso anonymously?

Hello, whenever I try to download the Windows.iso from Microsoft, it blocks me because I'm using a VPN. I don't really want to buy proxies or anything for this. I tried to download it off public WiFi but it was way too slow. I only need Windows for updating the EC firmware on one of my older laptops....

potentiallynotfelix ,

You'll still need internet for Microsoft telemetry

Janus, a simple text editor

For the past few months I have been working on a simple windows notepad like text editor. It's nothing special, but when I first switched to linux I looked around and it took me a while to find leafpad. Unlike leafpad however, Janus uses gtk3, a much more modern toolkit then gtk2, it can display and modify binary data, and it...

something tells me you want to get up to nefarious activities

potentiallynotfelix ,

No I think he's gonna fuck with peoples tvs or something.

Well naming the flipper zero isn't a bad thing, as far as I'm concerned the flipper zero is far too streamlined so all the removed on "hacking" tiktok do shit like spam your phone with pairing requests. the bad thing Trudeau is doing(and the reason I don't live there despite having citizenship) is taking away your God given right to own a gun for personal and property protection. The dumbass thinks he can take the guns successfully but in reality the innocent civilians only wanting to protect themselves will give their gun up to comply with the law, but the criminal with the gun is going to keep it and sell it or harm someone with it.

potentiallynotfelix ,

hold up... danTDM?

potentiallynotfelix ,

positive for me cause I dont want to see their shitty recommendations anyways. I just like/dislike a video to indicate I watched it.

potentiallynotfelix ,

any distro can do anything another can, itll be fine for gaming and has a massive community

potentiallynotfelix ,

If it has the following:
-graphical file manager
-graphical app store
-"start menu" of some sort
-graphical centralized settings app
I use i3wm on gentoo or arch

potentiallynotfelix ,

It's really not that hard you just need to start doing it and you'll get used to it any time

potentiallynotfelix ,

0AD is better

potentiallynotfelix ,

Pretty much there's very few players. In my experience the mods are also a bit too ban happy

I move cocaine across the border, so when I then supply it to dealers I will drone deliver from about 1km away. I have an ardupilot plane on standby circling in the air in case the guy runs off with the drugs so I can tail his car and a DJI drone which carries the cocaine itself(usually 1-2lbs). After the guy gets the drugs and the money is attached to the drone, I will start moving to as far as my drones can reach(5 miles or so) and then bring the DJI home because it's the quickest to die. I'll then land the plane and confirm the money is there. Overall the process takes about 1.5 hours and it'd be pretty anonymous

potentiallynotfelix ,

at first I loved garuda then I realized how bloated it is

potentiallynotfelix OP ,

Debian itself never works. It fails to install a bootloader no matter what iso I use.

potentiallynotfelix OP ,

It would be nice if it installed a bootloader, but bootloaders got left behind in 2022 when installing debian actually works for me

potentiallynotfelix OP ,

Thanks you, finally a non removed who doesn't understand that arch isn't installed through calamares or debian-install

potentiallynotfelix OP ,

Oh I had to go into my bios to select debian. ITS ALIVE!!!

potentiallynotfelix OP ,

Dude are you joking? I don't need a graphical file manager for example. That's bloat. If not having a graphical file manager causes nvidia drivers to not work, there's a major issue. I don't want anything but a terminal and a browser.

I tried, I really did

I've been an IT professional for 20 years now, but I've mainly dealt with Windows. I've worked with Linux servers through out the years, but never had Linux as a daily driver. And I decided it was time to change. I only had 2 requirements. One, I need to be able to use my Nvidia 3080 ti for local LLM and I need to be able to RDP...

potentiallynotfelix ,

I hate ubuntu with a passion. It's the most bloated linux distro, snaps are a terrible idea, it looks terrible, and linux mint is just the better option.
