I had more or less the same problem in my laptop and in my main PC.
But you can get around it just by login again and doing the update through zypper. I believe it restarts the session 3 times, and one of those after login, you just have a black screen. Use Ctrl+Alt+T to bring up the terminal and zypper dup again. After zypper is done just restart and everything will be fine.

Did this with both PCs and both are working with no problems.

One word of advice to OP: don't wait till you can't use Windows anymore. Start by dual booting and getting a hang of Linux, but with windows at the ready for any tasks you cannot yet do/feel comfortable doing on Linux. As you get a better hold of Linux, you should naturally begin to use Windows less.

Good advice here OP.

Fossify: Community fork of SimpleMobileTools after their sale ( github.com )

Being run by the project developers left after the primary dev’s departure and (if you’ll excuse the drama) betrayal by selling to what amounts to an advertising company. Personally I’ve started supporting this project on github, as losing these tools would be a massive blow to the open source Android ecosystem.

Watching soccer

Ahoy Mateys ! I am a big fan of watching soccer (or football), and usually I would just turn on my PC, look for reddit soccer stream, and watch thus way. However, I recently invested in an Nvidia shield (the stick), and was wondering if there was a way for me to watch the games directly on it, without turning on my PC? I already...

I’m not experienced with nvidia shield, but in my raspberry pi I use Kodi with the Daddy Live addon. I believe you can install Kodi in the shield, so maybe that’s an option.

In the user opinions and reviews section at gsmarena, someone said that the B35 uses Kai OS. So probably the same OS for the B40.

Should be more private than a iOS or Android phone just for the fact that’s a “dumb” phone. No wireless no GPS. Basically just phone calls and SMS. I don’t know if there’s anything more privacy friendly than that out there.

gsmarena says that it doesn’t have GPS. The official site doesn’t mention it either.

The best part is “Operating system: Proprietary”. Strange that they don’t have a name for it…

Yes, it happens when the screen tries to go to sleep or when you use the keyboard shortcut to turn it off.

If it happens in X11 just disabled KScreen 2 in Background Services.

I’ve filled a bug at suse. Let’s see what they say.

No answer yet. I have never filled a bug to suse, so I don’t know if I’m missing something.

This is the link to the bug, if anyone wants to add anything.
