@kde@kde Guess what, Firefox does the same thing (a refresh will reset your privacy settings and your default browser, all of which affect Mozilla’s revenue streams) but they’re a tad sneakier/cleverer(?) about it.
(Firefox is not private by default so getting you to reset your settings is how they try to influence you to return to their preferred configuration.)
The current version of #Mozilla#Firefox is 125.0.2 #Librewolf is still stuck at version 124.0.1 & #MullBrowser from #FDroid is at 124.2.
Not sure, why both of them are not getting any further updates? Have they already given up? Time to switch back to vanilla #Firefox?
Giving @librewolf a try. I like the idea of a browser specifically hardened against browser fingerprinting and tracking. Runs all of my existing Firefox plugins with no problems
Why on earth doesn't Firefox on android properly support navigate.share, IE it won't send across the text property and if you don't put a URL in there it just sends blank, even though the .canShare returns true. You can see various bugs raised and closed about this, a major reason to make people not use the browser and I just can't see why? @firefox#FireFox#JavaScript
Also, some interesting @thunderbird trivia: In 2004, blazing fast internet access wasn't nearly as widespread as it is now, so Mozilla offered to send installation CD-ROMs to users for $5.95.
#Google announced that starting in June 2024, ad blockers such as uBlock Origin #uBO will be disabled in Chrome 127 and later with the rollout of Manifest V3 (#Mv3).
For those using @protonmail 's #ProtonPass on #Firefox, just disable it. It is currently breaking sites such as Microsoft's login, Proton's own sites, Kibana and many more.
Question about Firefox's Add-On Facebook Container. I really appreciate the fact that Firefox works very hard for us to keep our privacy online. However, I've realized that the Facebook Container Extension Breaks a fair number of Websites, which tells me that Facebook Tracks something like 98% of all internet.
This morning I tried logging into the Mozilla Connect Website and I was surprised to see that the Facebook Container broke it also. I'm wondering one of two things: Either Mozilla now is using Facebook Trackers on their Website, or the Facebook Container Add-On has some bugs, and it breaks random Websites.
Anyone else come across similar issues? Is it in the realm of possibility that Mozilla actually uses Facebook Trackers on their Website themselves??
I'm looking to create an "Exit Button" in the Bookmarks Toolbar. I found how to create a Restart Button (creating a Bookmark with the URL about:restartrequired), but I'm having a hard time finding for Exit (or close all Firefox Windows). Perhaps it is not possible, I don't know.
Made an initial merge request to get the wonderful improvements from @user0 into mobile-config-firefox. :firefoxnew:
The idea is to make desktop firefox behave more similar to the Android version, e.g. getting rid of the extra tab bar, and some of the buttons around the urlbar to have more space for typing the URL.
For those of us receiving email in multiple languages, it would be awesome to have #Firefox Translate built in to Thunderbird. No sending your sensitive conversations to a corporate cloud, just a lean translation service running locally.
We've decided to make it a development priority for Q1 2024!
I recently discovered that you can get Microsoft Edge for Linux (🤢🤮) and am curious… does anyone here use Edge for Linux, or have you ever? What was your reasoning for using it?...
Firefox looks so much better than Chrome ( tux.social )
A little admiration of how easy UI customization is on Firefox, and how shitty Chromium looks.
Microsoft Edge, anyone?
