Hopefully the title says it all - I'm a music producer and I have a few hundred GB of samples in ZFS on my homelab server. I'm currently using filebrowser but I feel like there might be a better fit out there....
So, I recently asked how to confirm my external (ISP) is down. I only get notified (in theory) if the ISP is up and my system can call me that things are down, OR an external service can hit my Selfhost and notify me that it can no longer dial home....
So I’m brand new to networking and setting up a home network. I’ve done a lot of research and have played with the system. I currently have a co-ax connection through an Xfinity modem/router combo, and I am trying to set up a mesh network with a new set of Linksys mesh routers. I have been trying to assign a static IP to...

I ended up purchasing an HP Elite Mini 600 G9 with an i7-13700T last night as the start for my home lab work. I plan to run ProxMox on it, and upgrade it to make it a decent small home server. However, HPs specifications are poor detail, and I had some questions about ordering the new components that will work with this system,...

Im watching youtu.be/C81pyQaJgj8?si=htGxI0qKuCZlUvrI. I think i understand it all (including second video) yet im still unsure about part 12:00 - 13:00. He only assigned PVIDs which adds TAG info to the packet. But he claims that from now on VLANs are also set (by PVIDs) so packets will flow selectively. I thought you have set...
Had a networking question as it relates to POE security cameras. Looking into installing a few POE powered outdoor security cameras into my house. The idea is that I want the ethernet to run into the attic which is where I’ll have the NVR. Cameras/NVR are reolink....
