I have been on the edge with twitter and reddit for a while and I have finally deleted my accounts that I have had for a very long time there. They are no longer the places I used to know, even more so with twitter. I am ready for my new time here and on mastodon....
I’ve been working on this for a couple weeks now, if you’ve not seen it then it lets you search/filter communities and instances on all Lemmy instances....
Some people asked if there is an app that supports / combines all of the fediverse. While Fedilab “only” supports Mastodon, Pleroma, Pixelfed and Friendica i thought i’ll leave this here as it might be interesting for one or the other.
Lemmy.world grew from around 51000 total users the moment 3rd party reddit apps started to shut down on June 30 to 71000 total users at the time of this post (July 1). That’s a 40% growth in about 12 hours!...
I’ve spent more than 7 years in Mastodon, and in my experience, new users always come in with a Twitter mindset, then getting a cultural shock because they come to Mastodon expecting a Twitter experience and end up finding something strange and bizarre....

Too many people are confusing the two. Whenever lemmy.ml or its devs do something stupid, people go “Lemmy is getting worse and worse,” or “I’m leaving Lemmy,” or worse, “I’m leaving for Beehaw.”...
Granted, the warning says clearly “If you deselect Undetermined, you will not see most content”, which places the onus on the individual user, as apposed to logic built into Lemmy on which posts/comments can be viewed, while also leaving it to each user to have to weed out alternate languages for their views which are...
It would be nice to see a feature or some kind of extension to redirect Lemmy links from other instances to yours so you can interact with them. Because you need an accound to interact and it’s on another instance....
